I read in the Forum (1 year ago): “The PGP public key exchange between Kontalk and other XMPP clients doesn’t work”. Is that true yet?. Can we communicate with them and with encryption?. Thanks!

Not at the moment unfortunately. We’re dedicating our efforts to OMEMO so we did left behind the OpenPGP integration part. Once OMEMO support will be complete (I hope within 2019Q1), we’ll be able to talk with other clients supporting OMEMO.
XMPP communication with other services is still possible, but without any encryption.
