Trouble after re registration to kontalk

I forgot to backup my wifes key and had to re register after her phone was replaced.
Since then we get a bad key error and when
sending and receiving messages. Please advice

Have you tried to refresh manually the contact lists on all involved phones?

Normally the contact lists will refreshed automatically. But this can take up to a few hours.

How do i refresh manually?

Go to the contact list (button “new chat” or something. I don’t know the correct english sentence) click the 3dot menu and there “refresh”

Next version will have better automatic handling of key refresh (as a matter of fact, 4.0.4 already has some improvements), although some scenarios are simply impossible to handle.

My suggestion is as follows

I have recreated my key (e.g. I have to re-register my number on a new phone). Now my contacts get a “bad key warning”. What happens?
Your old key will be invalid and the new key will be sent to your contacts as soon as the contact list will be automatically refreshed. This may take a few hours.

To have the new key take effect immediately the contact list needs to be refreshed manually. To refresh the contact list manually follow this steps:

open the contact list "pencil-icon -> new chat"
click the “three dot menu -> refresh”

And now accept the new key.
BTW. If you have a new phone you can use your already existing account/key by following this tutorial.
